Medieval horse shoe carving on the keystone of a door arch on Via Tallassese in Arcidosso, Grosseto, Tuscany. This symbol marked the shop of a Medieval ferrier. It is very interesting that the keystone has the shape of an hammer, this particular kind of arch called “hammer arch” or “T arch” was used on Mount Amiata from around the later half of 13th century and before 1300.
