Stefano Campana is an associate professor of Landscape Archaeology at the University of Siena, where he has taught since 2006, and has also lectured at the University of Cambridge. He specializes in landscape archaeology, remote sensing, and archaeological methodologies for research and conservation, focusing on understanding past landscapes from protohistory to the present day. His work is primarily centered in Tuscany, though he has led projects in the UK, Spain, Turkey, Palestine, Iraq, and beyond. Internationally recognized for his innovative digital approaches to archaeology, including UAV-based 4D documentation, Campana has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London and serves on the General Management Board of HIST under UNESCO. He currently leads a research team in Siena’s Laboratory of Landscape Archaeology and Remote Sensing and founded the ATS Ltd spin-off for cultural heritage technology transfer.
