Museum located in a 16th century manor house. Two-story building, on the ground floor there is a room dedicated to archeology where the finds from the “Cerro de las Cabezas” are displayed, another room dedicated to local painters and a third with temporary exhibitions. The upper floor houses a collection of Contemporary Art, the result of the Valdepeñas International Plastic Arts Exhibition.
In collaboration with the Community Board of Castilla-La Mancha and the Valdepeñas City Council, GDH has carried out a month-long campaign of work at the Valdepeñas Museum. By using photogrammetry, a repertoire of 250 pieces from the archaeological site of Cerro de las Cabezas has been digitized. In total, nearly 100,000 photographs have been taken, collecting more than 4 TB of data.
This campaign is part of a long-term project that began in 2020 and which aims to continue working on the digitization of archaeological pieces, monuments and sites in Castilla-La Mancha with the aim of positioning the region at the European forefront in this field.
