Antinous statue from the site of Els Munts (Tarragona, Spain). Depiction of the young Bithynian. A slave and favourite of Hadrian, who the emperor deified following his tragic death by drowning in the Nile in 122 AD. His presence in the Villa of Els Munts would denote the loyalty of the villa´s owner to emperor. The sculpture is dated in the Mid of the 2nd century AD.
