This 3D model is of the remains of the Islamic site of Siyasa, located in the Murcia region of Spain. Atop the high hill is the castle, built in the 12th and 13th century and provide protection of the ancient city. Below is the ancient Islamic city. It is one of the best preserved medieval sites from the Islamic period in Europe. The walls of some buildings still remain more than two meters high and in the excavations numerous remains of paintings and plaster arches were found. Some of these arches have been completely restored in the neighboring Siyâsa Museum.
The model was made in RealityCapture software using 3487 images captured with a Phantom 4 Plus drone. Additional processing was completed in Geomagic Wrap and Meshlab.
