Mosaic preserved in the Roman villa of Carranque (Toledo, Spain). The residential part of the Roman villa of Carranque preserves one of the best collections of Roman mosaics in Spain. Most of the mosaics have been dated to the 4th century AD. In this case, we see a decoration with geometric and plant motifs. Some of these mosaics decorate rooms that had underfloor heating systems (hypocaustum), a luxury available only to the wealthiest citizens.
