This 18th century jail is located in the basement of the old Town Hall of Villarrubia de los Ojos (Ciudad Real, Spain) and is one of the few remaining examples of this type of structure in the region. The jail had some cells located on the ground floor of City Hall, which would separate men and women, but also the most dangerous criminals of the rest. Most of the cells did not have windows, so inside the detainees had to have some lighting system, at least for some hours of the day, remaining in total darkness the rest of the time. On their walls the prisoners recorded some graffiti among which we can see women, crosses, hearts… This jail was in use until the 19th century, at which time the Spanish judicial and prison system changed. It is one of the few examples of jails of the 18th century that are preserved in La Mancha.

This model was created from 24 scans from a FARO Focus S70 laser scanner using Meshlab and Xnormal.
