Japanese armor type “Tosei dö gusoku” with helmet or “kabuto”. It was part of the Romero Ortiz Collection, related in its 1888 Catalog to Daniel Datto and the context of the Philippine War. The warriors of ancient Japan or Samurai, belonged to a military elite at the service of a Daimyo or feudal lord. Their armor, the basis of their defensive clothing, consisted of different components that covered the entire body, pieces that evolved into forms of great showiness and a precious finish, especially in the Edo period.
