Milestone from the site of El Morell (Tarragona, Spain), dated in the 3rd century AD. Found in El Morell, 15km from Tarragona, on the ancient road from Tarragona to Lleida. The inscription, wich is incomplete, refers to the restoration carried out by Publius Portus on the road that led from Tarraco to Ilerda in time of Valerian and Gallienus. The Romans placed these mile-stones on the most important communications routes to show the distance in miles between the specific place and the city of Rome.
