This 3D model is of the internal grinding mechanism of the 16th Century “Infante” Molino (Windmill) located in Campo de Criptana, Spain, and most notably written about by Cervantes in Don Quixote. The windmill mechanism was scanned with a FARO Focus x330s; the data were preocessed in FARO SCENE, Meshlab, Reality Capture, and Meshmixer.
The data for this project were collected in 2017 as a joint effort between the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), the Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK) and CVAST at the University of South Florida (USF) under the legal permission of Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha (Expte. 16.0834-P1. Sistema de documentación 3D del Patrimonio Cultural de Castilla-La Mancha). The project is now managed by UCLM and Global Digital Heritage (GDH).
