The Cristo de Villajos snow well is located next to the chapel of the same name, in the municipality of Campo de Criptana (Ciudad Real, Spain). It’s drainage system, with 14 radial channels, is unique. It was covered by a vault that no longer exists, inscribed inside a quadrangular building with a side length of 8.75 m. There are documents that mention the structure dating to 1752, although it was most probably built in the 17th century. It remained in use until the middle of the 19th century. It was excavated, restored and musealised between November 2006 and May 2008.
This model was created from 32 scans captured by two FARO Focus x330 laser scanners. These data were aligned in FARO SCENE and reconstruction was in Meshlab. Additional software used includes Zbrush, Geomagic, and Xnormal.
