Small jug without decoration from Calatrava la Vieja, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. Christian period, 12th-13th centuries. This artifact was found in the 2009 excavations in the south-east sector of the medina, next to the western wall of the alcázar. Is one of the oldest types of Christian jug documented in Calatrava la Vieja. Similar vessels appeared also in the neighboring archaeological site of Alarcos, in the Alarcos battle contexts (1195).
