The Turner River Site Complex is a very large prehistoric shellworks site located near Chokoloskee Island, in the Ten Thousand Islands area of southwest Florida. Dating to A.D.500-900 (Glades I-IIa), this site exhibits a complex arrangement of approximately 30 mounds and other architectural features constructed of shell and earth. The Turner River site is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
