In Tuscany, Global Digital Heritage has been running two major projects. The first is the Mt Amiata Project in collaboration with Michale Nucciotti of the University of Florence and Stefano Campana of the University of Siena. This project is focused on the communities and heritage of the Mt Amiata region, especially the communities of Arcidosso and Santa Fiora, and the landscapes near the Etruscan site of Roselle.
The second project has been in collaboration with the with the Soprintendenza Archeologia, Belle Arti e Paesaggio per le provincie di Siena, Grosseto e Arezzo. Through this project GDH scanned the museum collections in Asciano, Sestino, and at the Banfi Castle, and the underground aqueducts in Siena. More work in this region is planned for the future.
