Arie Kai-Browne, MSc

Deputy Chief Scientist

Arie Kai-Browne is a geo- field archaeologist with an M.Sc. from the University of Applied Sciences Berlin (2013).
He specialises in 3D documentation and remote sensing for cultural heritage, using methods such as laser scanningphotogrammetry (terrestrial and UAV), and aerial/satellite imagery. His expertise includes GIS, image processing, 3D modelling, and interactive visualization in virtual and augmented reality.

Arie has led 3D documentation projects for major sites including the Temple of the Weathergod in Aleppo, the Palacio del Partal in the Alhambra, the Samarra collection (Museum of Islamic Art, Berlin), and airborne laser scanning of Pergamon. He has also participated in excavations across Germany, Spain, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Russia, Syria, and Türkiye.

He has extensive teaching experience, lecturing on 3D documentation and organizing workshops on artifact photography, GIS, UAV mapping, and digital recording in excavation.
