Benedetta Baleani, MA

Heritage Research Scientist

Benedetta Baleani is a PhD candidate in Heritage Science at La Sapienza University of Rome. Her research focuses on the evolution of marginal landscapes between the Roman period and the Middle Ages, through the lens of architecture. She is interested in studying building techniques and materials, the impact of cultural and historical changes on architecture, and the application of new technologies in order to record and analyze complex structures.
Benedetta holds an MA in Archaeology from the University of Siena, where she graduated with a thesis on the study of building phases and techniques of the temple of Zihilil (Morocco).
Benedetta joined various research and fieldwork projects, both at national and international level, which have allowed her to earn experience in stratigraphic excavation, in the use of magnetometer and in elaborating 3D models. Since 2023 is a research collaborator at the Landscape Archaeology & Remote Sensing LAB (LAP&T), Siena.
