This pre-Islamic period (1st Century CE) kitchen was associated with a farmhouse, and is located near a large and contemporaneous palace complex not far from the Mleiha Archaeological Centre. The Kitchen contains two round pit ovens that are accessible by a short, five step stair case. Various millstones were found associated with the kitchen, suggesting that it was the location of the processing of cereal grains and bread making.
The model was made from pointcloud data captured with two FARO Focus s70 terrestrial laser scanners. The scan positions were aligned in FARO SCENE and the point cloud was meshed in Reality Capture software. Further processing, including Z-painting, was completed in Meshlab.
